Goodbye 2007!

This will probably be the final post for 2007 and the only realistic New Years resolution that I will make is to make more regular entries for this Blog.

The girls had a blast on Christmas and once again the family spoiled the heck out of Haley and Lola. You can see from the photos, how our Christmas tree looked on Christmas morning and the other is once the rest of the family made it over with their gifts. Seems like we were opening gifts all day long. We are very fortunate to have family close by, but miss seeing those that live further away.

We wish for everyone to have a happy and peaceful New Year. See you in 2008!!

Christmas Eve

We took the girls down to Hyde Park to visit with Santa this afternoon. Both of them had no shyness with Old Saint Nick.

Early Explorers

On Monday we went to the December Early Explorers class at Bush Gardens. Haley learned all about animals in the winter and how they stay warm. She had hands on experience, petting a possum. We also were able to go visit the Clydesdale's and pet one of the larger horses 'on staff'. Afterwards, we went into the park and went on some rides and played with her friend Alexis.

Happy Holidays!

The holidays are heating up, or should I say cooling off, since today is the first day of cool weather that we have had in quite a while, so now it is starting to feel a little bit more like Christmas. Yay!
Mick worked hard on putting up our Christmas lights on the outside of the house and they look awesome! We used straight lined colored lights (instead of icicle lights as in years past) and we outlined the house roof and porch roof along with decorating the large and small palm trees in front. Oh ya, and I can't forget the large blowup Santa the adorns our front porch (Mick's favorite!)

December already!

OK, I'm not sure where the time went, but I've found myself unprepared to send out hand crafted Christmas cards, as I have done for so many years past. This year has been so hectic, I have decided to keep the Christmas cards simple. I still need to get photos of the girls in their Christmas outfits too!

Although I don't make daily (or even monthly) entries on our Blog page, I do try to keep the photo albums (see link to the left) up to date with photos of the girls, so we hope you enjoy viewing those.

I'm finally caught up on my orders for now (and a few birthday gifts for Haley's friends), so I'm taking off tonight and giving Janome a rest (that's my sewing/embroidery machine). It seems like as soon as September hits, we have a birthday party to attend almost every weekend, so with that in mind, I created a little birthday dress for Haley to wear (and also to sell on my site). Here she is modeling it:

Next, I am going to start building up an inventory of items that I will be selling at craft shows. I have one scheduled for November and will work to schedule additional ones before the holidays.

Not too much to update on... just doing a ton of projects. Oh ya, I did manage to start to organize a 'sewing studio' in our spare bedroom, which I'll share half with the girls for their playroom. This will allow me to 'clean up' the dining room, where my sewing machine rarely left. :) Here's a picture of where I am so far... I have a lot more organizing to do:

I'm not really sure how many people are actually visiting this blog space (gee, I need to figure out how to add a counter so I know if it is worth updating or not...)
I have been trying to keep our photo's updated, so you can always check those out on a regular basis... just click on the link to the left or here

HaleyBug Designs Takes Off!

Last week I was contacted by a local company which designs specialty fabrics and have been asked to provide tote bags and some other boutique style gifts. They found me through the internet. I met with them last week and we discussed some of the items they were looking for and the particular style of bag. They sent me home with a few yards of fantastic fabric to 'create' a prototype and some other sample items. Needless to say, I've been super busy working on these projects and haven't had much time to keep our blog updated. Here's a sample burp cloth with the fabric they provided to me.

Smile Lola!

I finally went to the photo studio and had some photos taken of Lola. Here are some of the proofs:

Slip and Slide Time!

We broke out the slip and slide to help Haley cool off in the hot Florida sun. Last year she barely slid on it, this year she has mastered it. Check it out at YouTube

Who's Who?

I've been trying to get photos of Haley and Lola at the same age, so we could do a comparison of how similar they look. Here's one I took today of Lola and one I had of Haley at approximately the same age....

Memorial Day Weekend 2007

Just a quick entry to publish our busy Memorial Day weekend!
Saturday we went down to Parish to visit our friends Brian and Beth. Todd and Melissa were also there with thier little girl Makenna, who is Haley's age, so this gave them a chance to get together and play. Melissa brought TONS of activities to keep the girls busy. Haley also had a blast swimming in the pool! Here's a pic of Makenna and Haley painting.

The girls also got to go on a tractor ride with Uncle Brian and they saw a gator in the little lake behind thier house

And you can see that Lola really enjoyed the day...

On Sunday we went to the airport to say goodbye to Grandma Twinkle, who came to help when Lola was born. Haley had so much fun getting to know her while she stayed with us. Here's a picture of the crew at the airport:

What a Day!!

Here's what our day was like yesterday:
1) I woke up with a 102 degree fever for the second day -- feeling pretty lousy.
2) Mick was kind enough to take Haley to school in the morning. Since my car was parked in back of his, he took mine... or at least planned to, until he tried starting it and the battery was dead! So he pushed it out of the driveway and parked it on the street so he could take his car. What a hassle!!
3) Lola was having her own day of fussiness and didn't really sleep well all day -- which is a bad thing if you are only 2 1/2 months old!
4) As the evening drew close, Mick thought he would help calm Lola down by swinging on the porch swing (which she loves)... Haley joined and there were three on the swing... which is not unusual, however this day, the swing decided to pull out of the joist and fall during a back swing, which is right over the driveway. Everyone was pretty shaken up, but no one was seriously hurt... just some scrapes and bruises. Lola has a nice raspberry on the back of her head and Haley has one on the top of her shoulder.
5) To top the day off, Haley begins to complain about her stomach hurting and moments later tosses up most of the days food and continues to vomit into the night.

This day couldn't get over with soon enough!!!!
Here's is a picture of daddy's little girl at the end of the day... so sweet! (oh ya, in the lower right corner, that is our family pukepot, which I used when I was a little girl!)

A Day at the pool

Haley had a blast last week visiting the City of Tampa's public pool. The pool we went to is a fairly new facility and is quite nice. Mick came over during his lunch hour and played with Haley for a little while too. He took Haley down the big red curly slide (in the background of the photo below -- you can click on the photo to make it larger), which she LOVED, until we were told that she can't go on it unless she knows how to swim. So needless to say, I think we will be looking into swim lessons for Haley this summer :) Here is also a video of her at the pool.

Here's a link to the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation activities available. There are a ton of things available. Haley also enjoys a great art class each week by the City of Tampa. She has been able to work a lot with clay and paint, along with some other creative things.

Here are some photos of the pool we went to:
